In Memoriam
Nyaliep Kuany
Founder, Youth for Greater Good • 1993 – 2024
“In 2016, I founded this initiative with one belief: young people deserve unconditional sanctuary, deep care, and self-determination.”
When mentorship, cultural roots, and opportunity unite, youth rise to become the resilient architects of Omaha's future. That belief became Youth for Greater Good — and it lives on today through Forward Youth Foundation.
A Legacy of Sanctuary & Self-Determination
Nyaliep Kuany understood what so many young people in North Omaha needed: a place to belong before anything else could begin. Her work was grounded in the belief that every young person deserves unconditional sanctuary — a space where they are safe, seen, and never told they must earn their worth.
She built that sanctuary not as a charity, but as a promise — pairing deep care with real power. Young people weren't just served by Youth for Greater Good; they shaped it. They sat at tables, designed programs, claimed their culture, and carried their communities forward.
That same spirit lives on at Forward Youth Foundation. Restorative wellness, civic leadership, self-determined career pathways — every pillar of our work traces back to the foundation she laid with love, courage, and an unshakable belief in young people.
The Nyaliep Kuany Memorial Fund
Every dollar given in her honor keeps the promise she made in 2016: young people are not the future waiting in line — they are the architects of it. The Memorial Fund sustains youth stipends, daily nutritious meals, wellness programs, and the civic platforms that let young people lead.
Carry Her Legacy Forward
Join the young people, families, and neighbors who carry Nyaliep's belief into every day of our work.
