Youth Leadership
Young people have the right to shape the decisions that affect their lives. We build the skills, platforms, and power to make that happen.
Young People Deserve a Seat at the Table — and a Voice in the Room
At Forward Youth Foundation, we believe young people have the right to shape the decisions that affect their lives. Our Youth Leadership program gives them the training, platforms, and power to do exactly that — from testifying before the Omaha City Council and Nebraska Legislature to organizing their own campaigns and projects.
Through Civic Engagement & Advocacy, our youth learn how government works and how to make themselves heard where it matters. Leadership Training builds the everyday skills behind real change — public speaking, project management, and community organizing. And through Mentorship & Volunteering, older youth pass their skills forward, pairing with younger members and the mentors and organizations who believe in them.
None of it is theoretical. Young people at Forward Youth Foundation lead Youth-Led Projects and civic partner alliances with Omaha Public Schools, local government, and community organizations — hosting town halls, writing whitepapers, tracking legislation, and moving policy that makes life better in their neighborhoods.
Civic Engagement & Advocacy
Our youth testify before the Omaha City Council and Nebraska Legislature, host town halls, write whitepapers, and track legislation — making their voices heard in the rooms where decisions are made.
Leadership Training
Public speaking, project management, and community organizing — the practical skills behind real change, taught through hands-on practice and real projects.
Mentorship & Volunteering
Older youth pass their skills forward, pairing with younger members and the mentors, allies, and organizations who believe in them — building a ladder of leadership that keeps growing.
Youth-Led Projects
From civic partner alliances with Omaha Public Schools and local government to neighborhood campaigns young people design themselves — our youth don't just wait for a seat; they build the table.
Every young person has the power to shape the decisions that affect their lives — we give them the training, the platforms, and the seat at the table.
We don't just prepare young people for the future — we put them in charge of it.
Give Youth the Mic
Mentor a young leader, host a civic workshop, or champion a youth-led project in your neighborhood. Let's build a city that listens.
